There were 26 votes in the poll. Of those that voted, 77% voted not to continue playing points every Saturday. 15% voted Maybe, let’s just not do it every week.
Based on these results, the points game is suspended. The BOD will discuss other options to add some variety to our matches and determine the frequency as such.

Since the first part of the year we have been playing a points game one day each week. Over the past couple of months it seems that many of those that voted at our meeting to do this have had second thoughts. The biggest complaint I hear is that it draws out the game too long. Seldom do we finish in less than 4 1/2 hours and sometimes it takes 5 hours to finish. For this reason I am posting a new poll to give the members a chance to vote whether we continue the points game once a week or go back to our normal 2 Best Ball Game.
We are in the final steps for our 2017 Fall Trip. Based on all the input from the membership we will be headed to Sea Palms. This will be the first year that we have planned a 2 night 3 day trip. Due to the fact that we will be staying 2 nights and staying at a more upscale hotel, there will be some additional cost to each player over the past trips. When we surveyed the membership a couple of years ago, the majority voted to make this change.
We are hoping that everyone can make the 2 night/3 days but if you just cannot go up on Friday, please get in touch with me and I will see if we can work something out.
Based on the responses I received from the polls over the last couple of weeks, I am only going to reserve 28 spots. These guaranteed spots will go to the first 28 who sign up and pay their deposit. If we have more I will start a Wait List and try to get more rooms. With this much early notice I think we can get more rooms but only if we have more than 28 pay the deposit. If less than 28 sign up and pay the deposit by the deadline, I will reduce the number of guaranteed spots.

Location: Sea Palms Resort, St. Simons Island, Ga
Dates: October 20-22, 2017
Golf on Friday at Pine Forest Jesup, GA
Golf on Saturday and Sunday at Sea Palms Golf Club
Cost: MGA will pay $150 per player. Each individual will pay $185 plus the cost of golf on Friday (estimated to be $30). Those that want a single room for 2 nights will need to pay an extra $145 with your deposit
Deposit due dates:
Each individual must sign up AND pay $100 deposit by June 30 to guarantee your spot. Balance of $85 (singles will owe $230) will be due by July 31. Deposit can be given to any BOD member. If you leave your deposit in the Pro Shop you are responsible to ensure that the money is in an envelop with your name and addressed to MGA. Please do not wait until the last minute to reserve your spot. The first 28 get priority.
