We had 40! players today.

While I am sure Mother Nature should get a lot of credit for providing an absolutely gorgeous day to play golf, the Board is very gratified to see such a great turnout for Peer Day. We look forward to many more.

I want to thank Jody Woodruff for his help in doing the computer work necessary to make the pairings and results go as smoothly as they did. He will post the actual scores in a bit.

For those that are not sure what “Peer Day” means or how it works:

You may pick your own group to play with, or sign up as a single. Singles will be paired by handicap and/or tees whenever possible. When we get within 5-10 minutes to tee time we put the singles wherever there is a spot. We certainly want everyone to have a say in their pairings but we need your help.

Don’t forget to sign up for Peer Day this Saturday. We need everyone to be signed up NLT 1130 as we will be using our Tournament Software to pick the teams. The teams will be picked after play, by the computer. As mentioned previously, the format will be based on the number of players. In all cases, Net scores will be involved and current GHIN handicaps will be used. Those without a GHIN handicap will be assigned one based on ‘normal’ MGA scores.

The annual MGA Best Ball tournament will be held on 24 Apr. Details to follow.

Some of you have asked about ‘the next meeting’. We (the Board) do not any plans at the moment but if anyone has any issues or suggestions you are encouraged to make us aware of them.
