The site has been selected for our Fall Trip this year. The decision this year was partly based on trying to stay within a cost near to what we have been paying. With inflation this past year, there are some places that have increased more than others. Unfortunately, the nicer the course and accommodations, the bigger the increase from previous years. Here are the details as we know them:
Location: Jekyll Island, GA (Golf Courses • Jekyll Island, Georgia • Vacation, Conservation, and Education Destination)
Dates: October 21-23, 2022
Lodging: Villas by the Sea (Three Bedroom Villa – Villas by the Sea (villasbythesearesort.com))
Cost per person: $450 (based on 3 per unit). Each player will earn a credit equal to $3 for each time played in the MGA since October 1, 2021. Max credit earned is $200. I will supply a list of credits earned as of Sept. 01. (Any credits earned after9/1 will be refunded after 10/1.) Anyone needing a single or double room must let me know ASAP as those units are very limited.
Full payment will be due no later than September 1, 2022
The plan is to play 3 rounds of golf on each day Friday through Sunday. Depending on input from you guys, we will either play all three rounds at Jekyll or we will play Friday on the way down in Jesup and Saturday/Sunday at Jekyll. The rooms we have reserved right now are all very nice 3-bedroom units along the ocean. The rooms consist of 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, and 2 twin beds. The cost of the units is $360 per night. The number of people sharing each unit will determine the cost per person. Up to 4 people can share a unit. Last time we stayed here, most people split the unit between 3 people, but if you want to share it with 4 you can save $30 each person.
We are looking at $450 per person based on 3 per unit. This includes golf, room and prize fund.
A signup sheet will be posted this week on the bulletin board. Based on previous years we will shoot for 32 golfers. If we have more signup AND pay by the deadline, we might be able to add a few more.
