UPDATE: I forgot to include the actual dates. The final date is:
October 4-6, 2019
We have finalized the details for our annual Fall golf trip. Based on availability, pricing etc. we have decided to go back to Jekyll again this year. Based on the results of a survey we did a couple of years ago, we are once again planning on 2 nights with 3 rounds of golf with a little more upscale rooms. There will be a few that will make the trip down on Thursday but that will be handled separately from the “main” trip. If you are interested in going down on Thursday morning (stopping to play along the way), please let a member of the BOD know so we can make reservations.
Deposits of $100 are due no later than August 4, 2019.
We have reserved enough for 32 players but can probably add a few more if we need to. If we do not have that number signed up and deposits paid by 8/4, I will be reduce that number accordingly.
Trip details:
Golf: Jekyll Island Golf Resort.
Friday: Pine Lakes 2 PM; Sat: Indian Mound Noon; Sun: Oleander 9 AM
Lodging: Villas by the Sea ( https://www.villasbythesearesort.com/ )
Check in 4 Pm on Friday – Check out 11 AM Sunday
Included with the rooms will be a free pass for the Emerald Princess Gambling cruise: https://www.emeraldprincesscasino.com/ . We will need to know how many wish to take advantage so we can reserve space. Departs at 7 Pm and returns at Midnight on Friday. Saturday is 7 PM to 1 AM
The total cost for this year’s trip will depend on how many people are in each room. Each suite has 3 bedrooms with 2 baths. I am making a guess that most will want to stay 3 people per suite so each person has his own bedroom. There are 4 beds per suite, so if you want to save a little money, 2 people can share one of the bedrooms (twin beds). The occupants of each suite can negotiate among themselves for any premium for the Queen and King beds. I think $10 extra per night is worth it for the Queen w Bath.
We will have a sign up sheet on the bulletin board. To save ( or maybe create) confusion, the bedroom choices will be taken on a first to pay deposit gets first choice. A copy of the floor plan is posted on the bulletin board. You may also visit the website using the link above to see more information about the rooms.
Trip cost per person (includes 2 nights lodging, 3 rounds of golf, prize money and Casino Cruise):
3 Bedroom with 3 guys – $375
3 Bedroom with 4 guys – $330
2 Bedroom with 2 guys: $425
2 Bedroom with 3 guys: $340
1 Bedroom Mini-Villa: $455
Reminder: the MGA subsidy is not included in the prices above. You will earn $2 credit towards the above costs based on the number of times played between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019. To see how many times you have played you can look on our website at the 2019 Money List. Maximum credit earned is $150
You still have 11 more weeks (44 opportunities) to earn more credits towards the trip costs.
If you have any questions, please ask one of the BOD members (Jody Woodruff, W J Daniell, Hal Baker, Butch Singletary, Rick Moody).
